At Birdsong burials take place in a meadow. A tree is usually planted as a memorial, so over time the site is developing into a species-rich native woodland.

Green burial provides a simple, environmentally conscious option. Graves are hand dug and burial takes place in a biodegradable coffin.

Services usually take place at the grave side, and can be secular or religious. There is a simple green oak structure that may also be used for services or for quiet contemplation when visiting. Visitors are welcome at any time but the site is not usually staffed, although a member of our team will be happy to arrange to meet you at Birdsong if required.
